Hackney

Hackney was created in 1965 from the former boroughs of Hackney, Shoreditch and Stoke Newington. The area has links back to the Romans and was a retreat for the Tudors. Always an East London borough, Hackney is the chosen site for the 2012 Olympic games. Hackney is the only London borough north of the Thames without an underground railway station.
