Auckland is known as Tamaki Makau Rau by the Maori which tranlates as the city of 100 lovers. The region comproses three harbours, two mountain ranges, 48 volcanic cones and more than 50 islands. Auckland is tha larggest city in New Zealand with a population of about 1.3 million.
